Hey I'm taking a short break from blogging but will be back third week of May with all the latest in Hip Hop, R&B and Grime.

To keep you tidied over while I'm away I thought I'd leave you in the capable hands of Mr. R. Kelly.

This 'series' happened long before my blog began but I think it's always worth going back to in quiet moments - bloody hilarious what was he thinking when he wrote this...

A while ago I posted a chunk about Lil Wayne which you can read here. Well the DJ Semtex interview now has a part 2 where he talks about signing Jae Mills to his Ca$h Money label.

Jae had an amazing run on making of the band and when he does Elliot Ness outside Puffy's building in New York it's an absolute mauling. To be honest technically his rhyming is a bit wack but when he looks to the sky and screams 'Yo Biggie am I a problem or what?' during the Castro battle I almost last my mind to have the audacity to shout that with Diddy next to you. So anyway back to Wayne I have to say the sizzurp thing is a mess. If I was the record label i'd definitely be trying to shut this sort of thing down. As a strictly urban act the press aren't gonna accept this sort of behaviour for long without a massive backlash.

Wayne sort your self out dude - I so want the Carter 3 to be amazing but there is a good chance it could be just ramshackle

thoughts people Carter 3 soon to be classic or just hype??

Crikey here is something I never thought I'd write about, Carrie and her gaggle of friends are returning to the big screen later this summer for cosmos and probably more random sex scenes with Kim Cattrall (who I'm sure is old enough to be my grandma by now). The reason it gets a mention on Hoods and Highnotes is that that there are two collaborations on the accompanying album worth noting. The classic Run DMC vs Aerosmith which everyone in the world must own and I have to say the concept of the four New Yorkers strutting down 5th Avenue to the sound of this makes me shudder.

The one that did excite me is the Jennifer Hudson song All Dressed in Love. Its been cowritten by the ex Goodie Mob and currently Gnarls Barkley man Cee-Lo. That is a mouth watering combination for me. I truly believe he is an awesome talent and Hudson's voice is jawdropping. In addition Jennifer plays a part in the film as Carrie's assistant.

The bad news the song is over the final credits so you'll have to watch the whole film...

True it isn't the most upfront line up you could imagine there's no massive contemporary stars like a Jay-Z or a Kanye but this made me lose my mind. ATCQ back together, 1/2 the Wu Tang, Mos Def loads of new hipster acts...

I so need to be there (if anyone at MSN wants to throw me a ticket I can be available)...

How sick is this gonna be? It runs through about 6 cities in the states and there are rumours of a UK date (please please please).

Got sent a link to a website which allows you to make your own mixtapes. You have space for 12 songs which you can upload to the site. Once they are uploaded it gives you a holding page which you send to your friends and they can listen to the tunes. Plus it as links through to Amazon to buy the tunes (this doesn't always work depending on how your naming is done).
